The Gary Sinise Foundation serves our nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need by creating and supporting unique programs designed to entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen, and build communities. My brother Christopher served in the US Army during Desert Storm and was awarded a bronze star. His birthday is in May when my campaign ends. I am hoping that I can meet that goal for him. He lost his battle with cancer and his wife Shelly now has a battle with cancer of her own. She is currently in remission. My brother David is now retired the US Air Force. He fights an equally challenging battle with Polyarteritis Nodosa which affects the small and medium arteries, which can become inflamed or damaged. This is a serious disease of the blood vessels caused by an immune system malfunction*. Many veterans and first responders have battled on long after their service ended. It is our duty as Americans to help them when they need us the most. Every little bit helps.
