Right on Trek (Review)

Compensated, Honest Review

I recently was given the opportunity to review the Adventure Meals from Right on Trek and was overwhelmingly pleased with them. I had three different breakfast meals that I tried and all three of them were easy to make (we are talking "just add hot water" easy) and were very, very tasty.

However, the best part for me was that they are from a company that is serious about sustainability. They don’t use any plastics or potentially harmful substances that might affect the consumer or the environment. Over the years I have strived to make this more of a standard practice wherever I can. Finding companies that promote it and build it into their business model is something I am encouraging others to also for when selecting products.

"Each product is 100% bio-based, 60% compostable with material derived from tree-pulp. It’s lighter weight, more packable, waterproof, and still strong enough to withstand the rigors of your adventure."

Their head chef is first and foremost a sustainability engineer. Everything is reviewed for its impact on sustainability from how the products are chosen, to how they are packaged.

Even if you are quite ready to tackle the Appalachian Trail you can still take these out for a simple day trip, a picnic, or pack them for a quick meal at work like I did today. This morning I was treated to a flavor adventure, right at my desk, when I had the Hearty Morning Coconut Granola.

Basic Instructions for Preparation:

Add 3-5oz of treated water and stir. OR try soaking overnight in 6 oz of water

I did have a friend try one and the only negative they saw was that they did not provide instructions on the added packets which included dry milk, banana chips, and nuts.

It was delicious and so very easy to make. I just added the hot water, waited about 5 minutes, and was able to enjoy a tasty meal that included blueberries, walnuts, and pumpkin seeds. The net carbs were about 15g ( 19 g total carbohydrates, 4g dietary fiber) with about 480 calories for the entire serving. It was pretty filling too.

If you are looking for something to take on your next adventure or perhaps just want to try something quick, easy, and eco-friendly you may want to try these out yourself.
