Finally some good news to share! I was offered and accepted a full-time position working as a Sales Director for Varsity Tutors. This is a remote position and will allow me to work from home (and I can move at some point should I choose to). I will be assisting parents and students find tutors for areas they need help with by matching them with online and in-person tutoring.
Tuesday night was also my last meeting as a board member for Susan G. Komen Nevada but I am not going to end my commitment to helping find a cure for breast cancer. My new work schedule and demands of that job will need to be my focus for awhile. However, my belief in what Komen does for the community will not waver. Besides, I feel that there is a need to have balance between work and life so for me this is something I will continue to incorporate into my life.
Since my new job is a work from home position it will be even more important to make sure I keep myself out there and not fall into hermit mode. Running is often a solo endeavor for me. I find volunteering the best way to not only remain social but feel it is crucial for me to give back, now more so than ever.
I will be posting a race review from my recent experience in Walt Disney World running the Star Wars Dark Side Challenge. Be on the lookout for that sometime this weekend.
Again, many thanks to all those that offered prayers and words of encouragement over the last few months. It has been very much appreciated.
